About me:
I'm using this page to clarify thoughts and identify themes from my past that have led to where I am in the moment that I write this.
Values
I've formed a bunch of values that I hold close to me that from past experience and reading about the lives of others. I like to think they have helped steer me to where I am today, but also realise that I'm probably more acting irrationally!
Projects worked on:
2023-Now:
Leveraging my engineering and business skillset into my first consulting roles, working for a Munich based company with a team based in London. The work is mixed but primarily focussed on serving clients in the automotive industry.
2022-2023: Business planning for electric buses & Light Commercial Vehicles
Creating a profitable business plan for the next few years for a relatively established bus and light commercial vehicle manufacturer. Working with international teams to gather market intelligence and create a product portfolio that supports the planned volumes and compliments the existing manufacturing footprint.
2018-2022: Product planning for new electric cars
Programme management and product strategy in the early phases of new vehicles. Worked on many programmes that never saw the light of day!
2016-2018: Vehicle architecting for new electric cars
Took on more ownership and worked in a small 'concept' team where we schemed a new electric car platform that could be physically altered to cater for different types of car.
2014-2016: Vehicle packaging for new sports cars
Developed a driving position for a new sports car and developed all the associated packaging of related parts and did checks to ensure compliant with all required regulations.
2012-2014: Component & system designing for all kinds of cars & motorbikes
Utlised my earlier knowledge in managing my work and my contacts made to join a consultancy to work on various projects for the automotive industry and learnt a tonne about how to design parts, the different ways to manufacture them, skinning my knuckles learning how to put the systems together and test them.
2011-2012: Model designing for new sports cars
After graduating I did a couple of jobs contracting for a few months utilising the skills I picked up at university taking an additional module for a CAD package that wasn't traditionally taught in the main curriculum. This opened some doors in a tough job market (for me personally) and led to working on designing jigs for an F1 car and desigining parts for a full scale model of a new sports car that was later shelved (unfortunately!).
